GAME CHANGER FOR CRAFT CIDERMAKERS IS COMING TO USA!

The legendary electric fruit and nut harvester OBSTRAUPE might be small, but it's a badass. This beautiful machine is praised by craft cider makers, agroforestry farmers, diversified smallholders, and homesteaders worldwide because small beats big when it comes to diversity and flexibility.

But what's the story behind this innovative harvester? The OBSTRAUPE was born in the cider and perry regions of Austria. Imagine traditional orchards with massive perry pear trees hundreds of years old on rolling hills in a lush green landscape. To save these last forest gardens of Europe and support the new wave of innovative cider and perry makers, three co-founders, David Brunmayr, Lukas Griesbacher, and Stefan Bermandinger, joined forces. They combined agroforestry passion, entrepreneurship, and engineering expertise to invent this agile, electric harvester — practically appropriate technology for the flexible requirements of diverse orchards.

OBSTRAUPE

OBSTRAUPE is German and translates to "Fruit Caterpillar"and these are truly hungry.

This niche product has become a real success in Europe. After several harvesting seasons and thousands of hours of product development, more than 1,700 of these harvesters  are now dashing through orchards and have already eaten over 50,000 tons of apples altogether. Everyone who has worked with it will tell you that harvesting cider apples and nuts from the ground has never been so much fun.
